KID ART FOR GROWN-UPS

Instructor: Lorelei Amato

Every 2nd Saturday

1:00-3:00pm

Picasso famously said "Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up."

Have you lost touch with your inner artist? Are you looking for a way to get out of your comfort zone and encourage more creativity in your life? Do you miss the smell of freshly sharpened crayons? In this class, I'll offer some of my favorite kid art projects for us to play with. We'll make clay monsters, marbled paper, finger paintings, and much more. Leave your maturity at the door and dress for mess!

FEMINIST ART HISTORY

Instructor: Lorelei Amato

Schedule TBD

11:00am-1:00pm

This class uses hands-on art projects to explore a broad view of art history, through the lens of the influential female artists of the period. Did you know that new research reveals “caveman” paintings as likely painted by women? That the first watercolor paintings were created by a woman, 60 years before the “watercolor society” was established? That Catharina van Hemessen painted the first self-portrait-at-easel? Students will learn about the techniques, ideas and cultural evolutions that defined pivotal moments of Western art through the women struggling behind the male-dominated spotlight.

suggested age: 12-16

All supplies provided

$150 for the entire series, or trade
